Product Description

Rayman Raving Rabbids is the edgiest and most off-the-wall gaming experience in the history of the Rayman franchise. This new Rayman game features the funniest, zaniest, wackiest antics ever when hordes of nasty bunnies invade Rayman's world. They enslave him, forcing Rayman to participate in a series of gladiator-like trials. In order to win his freedom, Rayman must entertain and outwit these crazed, out-of-control bunnies.

Welcome to a new generation of Rayman
You'd be hard-pressed to find a game with as much character as Rayman Raving Rabbids. From the creative minigames to the quirks of the bunnies, this game packs an immense amount of entertainment on one disc. It's rare in games that failing during a competition can bring you as much joy as actually succeeding, but Rayman Raving Rabbids does an admirable job of rewarding your failure with a large dose of comic screams, flying plungers and crossed eyes.

Of course, the point is to succeed and not let the bunnies laugh at your failure. Rayman Raving Rabbids may have a lot of style but it has very little plot. Each level consists of four minigame challenges and one "boss battle," so to speak. If you complete at least three of the minigames, the main gate opens, allowing you to take on a greater challenge. Once you play a minigame in the Story Mode, you unlock that minigame and can play it at any time and against friends.

Exercise your Wii Remote
Hand it to Ubisoft's development crew as they really took advantage of the Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers' capabilities. Some minigames are as simple as twirling the Wii Remote like a lasso and pushing a button to launch a cow as if you were in a hammer throw competition. Some minigames really test your coordinating, asking you to swing the Nunchuk like a jump rope and flicking the Wii Remote up to make Rayman jump.

Each level has one consistant challege, however: a rhythm game. As a song plays, the bunnies approach a spot on either stage left or right. When they hit that spot, you'll shake the Nunchuk (if the bunny is on the left) or the Wii Remote when the rabbid hits the mark.

When you take on the boss stages, you'll find yourself, more often than not, playing a rail shooter. The Wii Remote becomes your light gun, firing plungers at the horde of oncoming rodents. When your plunger supply runs out, shake the Nunchuk to reload. In recent years, the rail shooter (where you don't control the movement) has been forsaken for the first-person shooter and free movement. The Rayman boss experience will make rail shooter fans rejoice. If other shooters can perform as well as the plunger-fueled firing action of Rayman Raving Rabbids, the genre will come back with a vengeance.

Impressive replay value
There's extra incentive to play the many minigames of Rayman Raving Rabbids. When you complete a game in Challenge Mode, the game gives you a code that you can enter at the Rayman Web site which basically gives you access to special features on the site.

The minigames of Rayman Raving Rabbids skew toward a younger audience, and at first, an above-average gamer should find the games to be pretty easy. However, once the minigames are unlocked, a big challenge awaits you to get the highest scores and blast your friends in multiplayer challenges. That's when the real party begins! Rayman delivers exactly what the Wii promises: fun and lots of it. Here's hoping the bunnies come back for multiple invasions!

i'm not into a ton of fighting/war/"hard for me" games lol. And thats one reason I dont find a lot of games for the 360 that I want. But I love this game, it's a ton of fun!

I was surprised how much I enjoyed this game. The game starts out with Rayman being abducted by the rabbids (screaming rabbit-like alien creatures with and affinity for Cyndi Lauper.) The rabbids confine Rayman to a gladiator-like dome and force him to play a series of mini-games. The story is pretty brief and you can skip most of the animations.

I found myself laughing through this game because the rabbids are hilarious! The mini-games are generally easy and very fun. While the gameplay is for a younger audience I still found myself occasionally challenged. The highlights for me were a shooter-like game (in which you shoot rabbids with toilet plungers) and the dance offs (where you have to keep time and rhythm.)

I am a pretty seasoned gamer and beat this in about 3 hours. I'm already playing through again because I enjoyed it so much. My significant other--who is a very new gamer--spent 3 hours playing and only got 6% of the game completed. He still really likes this game. I would highly suggest this game for young players or new gamers.

I would be able to give you details of how good the games were if they were compatable with my wii. Unfortunately unknown to be and a good many other people American games only fit American machines. So no I'm not very happy at all.
okay

This game takes a bit of patience to start. I couldn't get passed the first set of mini-games. However- our 10 year old decided to try this out again this week. It had not been played since new years. In the span of our second blizzard of the week....she has completed 60% of the game now. Our 5 year old can't really play much of it- but can't stop laughing watching her play. I like how they mix up the tasks- the mini games keep kids attention, and it seems to be a good use of the motion technology. Great game for the price- just prepare for frustration for yourself!

Fun for all skill levels in the family! The variety of games keeps each level progression challenging. It has sports, music/dancing, racing, and just plain goofy (like cow-tossing or Rabbid wacking)! The graphics are clear and the soundtrack is entertaining. The Rabbids are hysterical, slightly annoying and comically creative - it is a game we all enjoy playing and it makes us laugh!
Definitely not for young kids - and not fun for anyone

Reviewer: Damon Penny,
I purchased this game because of the many reviews indicating this is great "family game". In fact it made the top ten list for Wii family games on one game site.

However, this game is not appealing to my kids (8, 6 and 4) at all. In fact we adults don;t particularly like it much.

The game starts dark and creepy in theme - no big deal, nothing inappropriate, just not very appealing. But its the game play that is really unappealing. It consists of dozens of tiny games that you must progress through and that are more like tests of patience than entertainment.

Your character is mocked and jeered by creepy rabbit caricatures while you struggle to complete inane tasks again and again. Once a task is completed, you're right back to the central screen to do the next boring, unfulfilling task. I've never seen a game that feels more like...well, work. I struggled to complete a couple of the levels at all - and the game would not progress at all until those levels were unlocked. There was no way mu kids were going to get through those.

Stay away unless you like your games boring, dark and difficult. And none of those meet our family's criteria for a fun time!
Who knew bunny abuse could be fun!

Very fun game. Lots of different challenges. Really uses a lot of hand eye. Sometimes it a little like rubbing your belly and patting your head. My four year old loved it too and could even play some of the games. Slightly twisted sense of humor which I love but some may find inappropriate.
Rabbids Are Lots of Fun :)

You can play this game with what came with your Wii right out of the box, no other "special" items needed. Lots of fun, easy to play, and very active. Great for anybody who justs wants a goofy game to play with. Plus the Rabbids are hilarious.
